Caramelized Apple Slices


My husband always NEEDS to have something sweet. If I let him, he would finish a gallon of ice cream in a single sitting. Usually, I have to close the carton and put it away for him to stop. So I’m always looking for ways to reduce his intake of sweets or, at the very least, make healthier versions of them.

My caramelized apple slices are one of my attempts to “healthify” my husband’s sweet tooth. No butter. No granulated sugar. But they taste so sweet, rich, and decadent. These caramelized apple slices are husband-friendly and kid-friendly. For adults, you can add liqueurs or liquors to spice up the flavor.

Crispy Baked Buffalo “Wings”


Ours will be a house divided come Super Bowl Sunday.

I hate to be labeled a conventional or a typical woman, but I love Tom Brady. Not only is he a hottie, he is a great quarterback. My husband who is a New Yorker through and through is rooting for the Giants. S*!t-talking has officially begun. He refers to the Patriots as the “evil empire.” This is coming from a Yankees and Duke basketball fan! Pot meet kettle, right? And it took Tom Brady winning 3 Super Bowls for my husband to reluctantly admit that he is a great quarterback.

Almond Cookies – Perks of Messing Up in the Kitchen

I REALLY LOVE raw almond butter. I smother it on my toast every single morning. I eat it with my banana. I smear some on my chocolate bars. I put a dollop on my pastries. I even put it in my Korean cooking sauces to make them taste richer. I put it on/in almost everything. So I try making it at home whenever I get a chance. Throw some almonds in the food processor. And voilĂ ! Usually it turns out great. Usually.
