Pasta with Garlic Oil

Whenever we have Italian food, my husband always talks about the North End in Boston. He was in graduate school in Boston. And whenever he and his friends wanted to treat themselves to something nicer than delivery pizza, they would head to the North End for some good Italian. I don’t know whether it’s the rose-colored nostalgia or not. But he still says it’s the best place to get Italian.

Takeout at Home: Chicken and Broccoli

For our “takeout” at home this week, we decided to do chicken and broccoli. Chicken and broccoli was among our favorite takeout items. But more importantly, I thought this dish was appropriate for Breast Cancer Awareness Month due to its cancer-fighting properties. In fact, Dr. Oz lists them on his list of dynamic food duos specifically for their cancer-fighting abilities. When eaten together, they are “three times more beneficial than when consumed alone.”

But as a person with lactose intolerance and gluten sensitivity, I just don’t have a lot of choices at the local bakeries. And it gets very difficult when my monthly chocolate cravings hit. It’s usually the kind of craving where I want to swim in a vat of chocolate with an IV of chocolate stuck to me. So when a craving hits, I must bake…

Bulgogi – Guest Post at Justasdelish

I am doing a guest post over at Justasdelish today, a blog started by the lovely Shannon Lim.

When Shannon asked me to do the guest post, she had two requests. She asked that the recipe be simple and that it be something Korean. It makes perfect sense since I run a blog dedicated to healthy food, particularly Korean food. It would be silly for me to do the post about anything else!
